Fake currency note racket busted; 4 held in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: A West Guwahati Police District (WGPD) team from Azara PS busted a ring of Fake Indian Currency Note (FICN) scamsters and arrested four persons on Monday. Two FICN printing machines, FICN worth Rs 15,000, 1 fake gold boat weighing 2 kg, a vehicle and a Scooty were recovered from their possession.

The arrested persons have been identified as Md Rohim Mandal (27) of Kalgachia, Md Abdul Jalil (28) of Rauta, Md Fuljar Hussain (24) of Bihpuria and Sunil Saikia (23) of Gohpur. Police initially arrested Md Rohim Mandal from Satgaon in the city. Based on his confession, police later arrested the other three from Hatigaon.
